Fluke • FLUKE  9500B Oscilloscope Calibrator 9500B Oscilloscope CalibratorKey FeaturesWorld-class fully automated upgradeable oscilloscope calibration workstationOscilloscope calibration can be complex, time-consuming, and costly. It often requires skilled interaction with operators and is common in multi-channel environments where many terminal swaps are needed. Automation systems also require substantial manual steps even for simple procedures. Switching systems or multiplexers used to achieve automation can introduce errors and faults.Rapid advances in oscilloscope technology make it difficult to keep up without large-scale investment. The 9500B workstation overcomes this by offering hand-free automation with high accuracy, supporting future performance upgrades as needed. 9560 Active Head – 6.0 GHz sinewave levelThe 9560 Active Head, newest in the Active Head family, enables upgrade path for 9500B users to access latest performance via upgrade to 9560 Active Head, offering 6.0 GHz sinewaves and 70 ps edges. Unlike fixed-amplitude pulses, Active Head Technology™ allows adjusting outputs between 4.44 mV and 3.1 V to verify oscilloscope amplifiers with high sensitivity. Regardless of amplitude, controlled waveform filtering ensures energy distribution is well-defined.Fully automated calibration for modern high-performance, multi-channel instruments.Upgrade path to meet evolving workloads, protecting investment.Five-channel simultaneous outputs eliminate lead swapping or complex signal multiplexers.6.0 GHz sine level and 70 ps edge provide comprehensive capability for current and future scopes.Fluke Calibration’s Active Head Technology™ generates the calibration signal directly from the input, helping identify if issues are at connectors or the oscilloscope itself.Product Overview9500B Oscilloscope Calibrator FeaturesAutomation of oscilloscope calibration is one of the biggest productivity gains in test laboratories. It is performed manually, requiring significant time even for skilled operators. Semi-automatic solutions exist but bring their own challenges.Over the last decade, two-channel oscilloscopes have given way to more complex four-channel instruments. When calibrating these, signals must be moved between channels, often via cable movement, requiring operator intervention. As an alternative, a switching matrix can be used, but this increases reflections and contact faults. Active Head and Full AutomationFluke Calibration 9500B uses independent Active Head to achieve true full automation. The signals needed for complete oscilloscope calibration are generated remotely by the removable Head from the mainframe, directly connected to the oscilloscope input with no external cables. Each 9500B mainframe can control up to five heads, enabling all required signals for a 4-channel oscilloscope to be provided and controlled without operator involvement or external switching.MET/CAL® Plus Calibration Management SoftwareAutomation requires software to manage calibration procedures. 9500B can be used with MET/CAL Plus software for automated calibration management and documentation, inventory tracking, and development of new calibration procedures. It runs on Windows with multi-user networking and ISO 9000 traceability, including customizable certificates and reports and advanced procedure programming. This results in higher throughput, improved consistency, reduced human error, and lower training needs, i.e., lower cost for higher calibration quality.Gold Support ProgramFluke Calibration continuously develops new calibration procedures to respond to the oscilloscope market. For a low one-time fee, you can access all new procedures generated by Fluke’s software support team for the next 12 months via MET/SUPPORT Gold software support program. This covers hundreds of new oscilloscope calibration procedures per year and includes priority access for 60 days to new procedures. You can also purchase MET/SUPPORT Gold for ongoing benefits, including access to new procedures on Fluke’s site or custom procedure development at economical cost.UpgradeabilityInvestment protectionOscilloscope technology evolves rapidly; today’s advanced equipment can become common. Fluke Calibration 9500B provides a complete upgrade path. You can start with 600 MHz 9500-series, then upgrade to 1.1 GHz, 3.2 GHz, and up to 6.6 GHz. If full automation is not needed immediately, you can begin with a single Active Head and add more as requirements change. Only Fluke Calibration 9500 and 9500B offer this upgrade path to protect your investment.Mainframe LineupFluke Calibration offers top-tier performance for oscilloscope calibration. For most users, the 9500B series includes:9500B/600 – 600 MHz high-performance oscilloscope calibration workstation9500B/1100 – 1.1 GHz9500B/3200 – 3.2 GHzFluke Calibration anticipates changing needs and provides upgrade options for all models, including existing 9500-series users. All future upgrades will align with this upgrade philosophy.Active Head RangeFour different Active Heads expand upgrade options for the 9500B. These additions improve performance, extend frequency range, or increase automation possibilities.9510 1.1GHz Active Head – Compatible with all 9500B mainframes; provides quasi-sine up to 1.1 GHz and 500 ps rise time when used with any mainframe.9530 3.2GHz Active Head – Compatible with all 9500B mainframes; provides quasi-sine up to 3.2 GHz with selectable 150 ps or 500 ps rise times.9550 Ultra-Fast Head – 25 ps rise time for calibration of a 14 GHz sampling oscilloscope.9560 Extended 6GHz Active Head – Unique capability to calibrate sine waves up to 6 GHz when used with 9500B/3200 or upgraded 9500/3200 mainframes. Only when upgrading from a 9500 mainframe to this level does 6 GHz come into play.We are not finished here; the text ends abruptly in the middle of a sentence.
